If your hairs don't stand up (II)...

Last 500m of the NZ round of the ITU world cup in 2005. Kris Gemmell attacks... and what an attack. Bevan Docherty responds... too late?

Morris and I hit the mtn's on foot yesterday. 20km, 1000m ascent, a bit of snow and a lot of ice. We kept the pace mature and therefore I'm able to walk today... but only just!

Morris was in charge of the map reading and did an exemplary job. I always struggle with devolving map reading, but I'm glad I did, almost white out conditions and mega windy on top.

This just about sums up the sentiment :)

Sometimes it's worth having a pop, just to see what'll happen...

At least that's what this guy was thinking - nice to watch just because you know his life has changed in that moment in a tiny but permanent way. Jake Lee of Spain Park High Alabama will live on that clip forever :)

I can confirm that...

it's dark at night in the country (that quotes for you Styles), and you think I'd go equipped for an off road run in the woods. Unfortunately not. Morris was irritatingly ready for the inevitable lack of vision with his head torch and it didn't stop the hill session we had planned.

Although it'll take more than the occasional hill session to prepare the legs for this. Anyone interested in throwing an estimated finishing time? The closest guess wins a Ridin-or-hidin limited edition something... don't be shy!

If your hairs don't stand on end while watching this..

then you've never raced. And I don't mean raced on the road with a number on your back, I mean raced round the garden on your trike against the other kids, or raced the bus for the traffic lights, or the clock to get home before House is on FiveUS.

And if you've never raced... you've never lived :)

It's even better that I have no idea at all what the commentators are saying... although they seem pretty pleased!

Thanks to BKW.
